WHAT WE ARE

You don’t just start a new label every day. Of course, we love fashion ourselves. What’s more, we love beautiful fabrics, carefully crafted pieces that have been part of a wardrobe for years. Timeless pieces that can or may be fashionable, but we don’t blindly follow trends. We firmly believe in a 10 piece wardrobe. Annemiek worked for years in fashion, Karin has a strong commercial drive, together we are since 2012 Femmes du Sud: a strong growing label with a very own vision and story. The two of us do everything ourselves: we develop the colors, determine the silhouette, talk to the suppliers with whom we work and of course we travel a few times a year. After all, you don’t only get inspiration during the fashion fairs, but also outside your comfort zone.

WHAT WE MAKE

Our label stands for feminine items with a luxurious look and feel that are all of high quality. We have everything made from natural, soft materials such as beautiful wool from Italy and silk from Turkey. With an eye for details that make a difference and a lot of love for honest craftsmanship and craftsmanship from Europe. You are as good as your last collection, we always say, reason for us to work hard and develop even more beautiful items every time. Twice a year we bring a new collection, each consisting of about forty styles, all of which are in line with the previous collections.

WE DON’T LIKE BOXES

Who do you make these items for, we’re often asked. For ourselves, we said at the beginning. But especially for all those other busy, hardworking women who want to look great every day and don’t have time to think about it for long. Women who understand that it makes more sense to spend a little more money on our items a few times a year than to buy all kinds of cheap fashion. Who, like us, believe in a solid basic collection that will always make you look good. Whether it’s a woman under 20 or over 60, we don’t really care.

WE ARE INVOLVED

Yeah, that’s what everyone says, of course. But it’s just us. Involved in the workshops we work with. Fortunately, we don’t have a large Femmes du Sud factory at the other end of the world. Most of our silk and other fabrics come from Turkey, the wool comes from Italy and we work closely with a knitting factory in the Netherlands, a beautiful family business that understands exactly what we want. For us, it is sustainable that we produce in Europe, that our clothing lasts a long time, that we have customers who have repaired a hole in a vest themselves with a strand of wool from the original supplier. We are proud of that.
